

Aside from that I thought it was a brilliant novella and completely different to your usual type of Christmas short story. I very quickly became immersed into this novel and felt involved with the characters, perhaps a little too much, as I still really want to know what happened to Casey at the end of the novel. Fear not there’s also plenty of Christmas to this novel and I love the way that Joanne Clancy combines the heartbreaking storyline with the hopefulness of Christmas as Julie and her husband Shane, turn out to be in great need of a Christmas Miracle this year. I was expecting The Gift to be a nice, jolly, warm novella but what I got instead was suspense, drama and tension in abundance. After losing her own baby Casey formulates a plan which will unexpectedly bring the two women’s live crashing together and will leave one of them heartbroken…
