The plots in earlier books centered around getting Raisa on the throne, but this book’s plot centers around politics and a couple of new introduced plot points: first, wizards are getting randomly murdered in Ragmarket and Han is getting blamed for them and second, everyone is trying to find the Armory of the Gifted Kings to deus ex machina themselves out of trouble. Raisa is crowned Queen and has basically told Han that she can’t run away with him, since she had to stick around and be Queen of the Fells, a queendom which is honestly about one drop away from civil war. The book opens very shortly after the end of the last one (oh, and before I go any further, I should probably warn you about lots of potential spoilers for the previous books coming up). The Crimson Crownis the final novel in Cinda Williams Chima‘s Seven Realms Series, and true to my very brief description above, the adventures the main characters have are definitely not over yet! For Han and Raisa, however, their troubles have only just begun. One would think that now that Raisa has finally been crowned Queen of the Fells, as is her right, that all problems would be over.
